What Is a French Drain?
Mandatory in the province of Quebec and some other provinces in Canada, a French drain is a pipe installed at the base of your property's foundation to control the water table at the height of your building. This way, whenever there is a heavy storm or a water level problem that can seep past the base of your property's foundation, the excess water will be drained away before it has a chance to reach the foundation walls.
The extra water is expelled through a drainage system that channels the water under your basement floor. The channelling then causes the water to collect in a pit or catch basin that can be pumped or drained by gravity to a municipal system.
Septic Tank Installation Service
If you need to install a septic tank with a drain field in Laval, Montreal and the North Shore, call on our septic tank installation services. There are two types of septic tanks: the collection of wastewater from toilets, called "black water" and the collection of domestic wastewater, called "all water". The septic tank and leach field are generally used when the public sewage system is missing or impossible.
The installation includes a tank and a treatment unit, as well as pre-treatment processes such as a pre-filter and a grease trap. Different types of septic tanks are available, such as concrete, steel, fiberglass and polyethylene.
